With the potential to unlock propositions for the Indian tech start-ups and assist them get a pie of the multi-trillion-dollar App Economy, AatmaNirbhar App Innovation Challenge was launched on MyGov- the citizen engagement platform of the Government of India. On Friday, 7th August, the central government announced the winners and in the Entertainment category, Meme Chat was among the top three winners alongside CaptionPlus and FTC Talent. There were 6,940 entries from various entrepreneurs pan India across nine different genres of mobile applications namely Business, eLearning, Entertainment, Games, Health, News, Office and Work from Home, Others and Social, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
With a current user base of 650k viewers, Meme Chat is a social networking app that allows its users to earn money and incentives, support the Make in India movement, and help brands grow organically through innovative growth hacking and engineering strategies. The app is completely free from advertisement and lets its users enjoy the memes through creation and engagement with others online. Some recent and popular viral memes like Bolna Aunty Aau Kya, Kamlesh, Deepak Kalal, JCB and Mature Guy, and recently the Lagan Pal (Paragliding Guy) trends were started by Meme Chat. The future of this entertaining app looks really bright as it has become an official partner with OTT platforms like Hotstar, ALT Balaji, Amazon Prime among others and they also plan to introduce videos and hit a million users in the coming time.
